I went into watching Netflix's "The Knight Before Christmas" with an open, albeit doubtful, mind. After the atrocity that was "Holiday in the Wild," whose only refining quality was that there were lots of baby elephants throughout, I have low, low expectations for the platform's other original holiday films this year. (Except for the third "A Christmas Prince" installment -- that, at least, we know is bad and we love it anyway.) Let's be honest: A movie about a time-traveling knight making his cynical 21st-century host change her mind about love is super cringey.
However, while I was right, and the premise of the movie was incredibly cheesy, I have some good news: I did not hate this one! The writing was obnoxious in just a few choice areas, but Vanessa Hudgens (Brooke Winters) and Josh Whitehouse (Sir Cole) didn't make me stop believing in the potential of movie-making. Plus, they got something very right: Hudgens' wardrobe. Homegirl was owning every look they put her in! Here were my favorites, along with some commentary on the film itself.
