1. Railbird Music Festival
Held in Lexington, Kentucky, Railbird Music Festival is a two-day event that happens every June. Some notable headliners from this year's festival included Noah Kahan, Chris Stapleton and Hozier, all folk pop kings, if you ask me. Other performers included Wynona Judd, Lord Huron and Flatland Cavalry, which makes this arguably one of the best folk pop and country festivals the U.S. currently offers. Any predictions on next year's headliners, anyone?
2. Soundside Fest
Calling all New Englanders! Soundside Fest is held in Bridgeport, CT at Seaside Park to close out the summer every year, and has had some great lineups in the past few years. This year, however, must be the year of Noah Kahan, as he's headlining again and we are definitely not mad about it. Day two features the Foo Fighters, and other notable performers include Teddy Swims and the Goo Goo Dolls. This event is coming up quickly, so grab those tickets now!
3. Country Calling
Although this event leans more on the country side, there are performers in the mix who provide a bit of folk with their country twang. For example, one of the the headliners of the festival is Tyler Childers, most known for his bluegrass flare and country combos. This two-day festival is kicking off in October in Ocean City, Maryland, where you may just be able to sneak in one last beach day before the cold kicks in.
4. Boston Calling
What's better than an outdoor spring music festival in Boston? Although this year's festival already happened, we're counting down the days to next May. With more of a pop flare, Boston Calling features both trending artists and the classic pop folk you may be searching for. Headliners from this year's festival included Ed Sheeran and Leon Bridges, providing chill vibes in arguably one of the best cities in the country.
5. Oceans Calling
Heading back to Ocean City, Maryland, the Oceans Calling festival is coming up in September and features a plethora of vibey artists. Notable performers include Cage The Elephant, The Revivalists, The Killers, Blink-182 and Mt. Joy to fulfill all of your music festival dreams. Also, what's better than listening to your favorite genres of music by the ocean? I'll wait...
6. Healing Appalachia
Finishing this list off by promoting an event with a purpose, Healing Appalachia is a music festival that strives to raise money for a healed Appalachia, free from addiction. With another Tyler Childers headline, this festival will be a folk pop celebration to remember, right in the heart of folk music culture. Kicking off at the state fair of Lewisburg, West Virginia, Healing Appalachia is taking place this upcoming September, which means you still have time to get your tickets!
