1. "Encanto"-Themed Trip
We may not talk about Bruno, but we do talk about this
Colombian "Encanto"-themed excursion, brought to you by Adventures by Disney. Over
eight days, discover the inspiration for the Disney film as you learn how to make
arepas like Mirabel’s mother, visit a coffee farm, hike Cocora Valley, learn
about tamarin monkey conservation and discover the arts scene of Cartagena.
2. Floating Karaoke in Japan
Sing like no one is watching while you float in Sagami Bay.
In this giant wash-tub-like float, guests of the RISONARE Atami in Japan can
try karaoke at sea. Tambourines, maracas and a bottle of champagne are
included, but you can also upgrade to a caviar snack because singing that loud
with your bestie makes you hungry!
3. Steak-cation
Reynold’s Wrap recently had a contest where they sent a lucky
winner on a Steak-cation in Yellowstone to the Ranch at Rock Creek in Montana.
You can enjoy this all-inclusive dude ranch too by booking your own stay. Ride horses,
hang out with cowboys and enjoy grass-fed beef in one of their nightly farm-to-table
dining experiences.
4. Temporary Hotel
Dutch architecture studio Overtreders W developed a
sustainable approach to construction using locally sourced materials and
tie-down straps for fastening. The straps allow for the components of the cabin
to be reused at a later date as it is intended to be a temporary structure. STAPEL
OP, as it’s called sits in lovely forest of Veenhuizen, Netherlands and was built as a commemoration
of the vilage’s 200 year history in partnership with Ketter&Co and local
hotel Bitter & Zoe.
5. Treehouse Hotel
Be one with the jungle in the Suitree Experience Hotel in
Costa Rica’s Blue Zone Mountains. Treehouse-style pods blend into and coexist
with the ecosystem, offering panoramic views without too much disruption to the
land. Amenities include a luxurious restaurant, a swim-up pool bar, treetop suites
with pools and jacuzzi, lookouts with telescopes and binoculars, and massages.
6. Family Yoga Retreat
When you think of yoga retreats, you don’t usually picture
family fun. One of the yoga retreats at Casa
Cuadrau is inclusive of all ages. Located in the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park in
the Spanish Pyrenees, the Learning to Love: Yoga, Mindfulness, Art & Nature
Family Holiday has yoga and mindfulness
sessions for adults and kids and multi-generational focused art workshops,
games, storytelling, music, and dance. It’s a great way for families to strengthen
their bonds and have fun together.
7. Cheese-cation
This trip sounds a bit cheesy. If you’re ready to explore the world of Parmigiana Reggiano, you’ll need
to come to Italy. In Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena, Bologna and Mantua, you can
visit a dairy farm and see how the cheese gets made via the Parmigiano Reggiano
Consortium. There are tastings, tours of production facilities and farms, as well
as cooking and food pairing workshops. Learning is suddenly delicious.
8. Mountain Air Sommelier
We’ve all heard of wine sommeliers who help you pick the
right wine to pair with your food. But to top water sommeliers (they help
you choose still or sparkling), there is an air sommelier to take you on
a guided hike. Swiss perfumer Patrick Stebler hosts monthly tours of the Graubunden
mountains to explain and show you the characteristics of air including scent, air quality altitude, temperature and humidity. Different seasons will highlight different regional features from
honey to berries and there’s a meal component, too, so you’ll get to do more than
sniff delicious mountain berries — you
can taste them in a chef-created dinner.
