One of the most wholesome pranks we’ve ever heard of is the
newest on TikTok, where adult children hide 100 miniature rubber ducks in their
parent’s house and leave a note instructing them to find them.
Some parents are slightly annoyed that there are ducks everywhere
while others enjoy the game. Either way, the reactions are hilarious.
One of the things we like best about this trend is that it’s pretty harmless. No big messes are made, no one gets hurt and tiny ducks are
kind of delightful, so it’s kind of a positive prank.
This prank is not to be confused with Jeep ducks, where the
owner of a Jeep sometimes will get mysteriously gifted with a rubber duck in a
parking lot. It is similar to the idea of cruise ducks, however, where
passengers will hide full-sized ducks around a cruise ship for other passengers
to find.
The earliest example we could find about this trend was on Reddit in 2021
when a person decided to leave ducks around the house for their parents to find. There have also been tiny duck office wars and boyfriend pranks. Now, this
version has gone viral on TikTok, with dozens of videos of people having a
little too much fun while house-sitting for their traveling parents.
While the parents are away, the ducks will play. Is it
revenge for parents constantly telling their kids to clean up when they were
younger? Whatever the reason, it certainly sounds like the perfect opportunity for
a counter-prank. Hiding 200 plastic spiders around someone’s house sure sounds interesting!
