1. KNOW THE BASICS
First off, know your basics. Below, you'll find my favorite temperature guide for grilling. It's important to know the grill temperature and time, as well as the internal meat temperature.
2. TOOLS AND ACCESSORIES
Second, you get to do some shopping. The right grilling tools can make all the difference, including an apron. In addition to the fun stuff, you should always have an extinguisher on hand for safety precautions.
3. SET THE VIBE
Third, set the vibe. Pick your OOTD (outfit of the day) to be versatile, comfortable and still look good with an apron. Music, cocktails or mocktails will complete the vibe.
4. CURATE THE MENU
Next you’re going to curate the menu, taking into account who’s eating and what’s the occasion. You can even send out a group text of what's on the serving block to get people excited.
5. GET GRILLING
Now finally you can get grilling!
6. CLEAN UP
Last thing to do is clean up — just kidding! A good standard to follow is that whoever cooks doesn’t have to clean. Leave that up to your cohort or, if you are solo hosting, then paper plates all the way (but make sure they are at least an eco-friendly brand).
