1. Go for a Hike
If you and your partner love the outdoors, enjoy an afternoon out in nature with a hike. Head for your favorite trail, or explore a new trail that neither of you have visited before. Pack a small picnic to refuel at a gorgeous stop along the way.
2. Take an Art Class
There’s a creative, artistic class for just about anyone. You and your partner can have fun painting, creating pottery, practicing photography, drawing, printmaking, or sculpting. Plus, you’ll have sweet souvenirs to take home as reminders of your lovely date night.
3. Visit a Museum
If you want to appreciate some art without getting your hands dirty, you can plan a visit to a local museum. If you have a full day available, make plans to visit a few different museums. Chat about the most memorable pieces at the end of the day.
4. Try Roller or Ice Skating
Roller skating and ice skating are playful ways to spend time with your significant other. You don’t have to be a pro — half the fun is just inching along together, hand in hand. Go for milkshakes or hot chocolate afterward to keep the good times rolling.
5. Have a Spa Day
A spa day is relaxing and can also amp up those romantic feelings. You can either visit a local spa for a couple’s massage session and some sauna time, or go the DIY route by lighting some candles, dimming the lights, putting on face masks, massaging one another, and/or taking a long bath.
6. Go to a Concert
For music-lovers, a concert is the perfect way to spend Valentine’s Day. Sing along to your favorite tunes and dance the night away, all while making memories with your significant other.
7. Play at an Arcade
Sure, you could play video games at home, but to make your Valentine’s date night a little more exciting, take your partner to an arcade to play some old-school games, earn tickets, and splurge on nostalgic rewards at the ticket counter.
8. Stargazing
Valentine’s Day is all about spending time together, and it doesn’t need to cost a fortune. One romantic, memorable, and free way to celebrate the holiday is to head out for some stargazing (weather permitting). Head to the backyard, walk to a local park, or drive somewhere quiet; lay out a blanket; and kick back as you look at the stars and point out the constellations.
9. Volunteer Together
One great way to connect for the holiday, or any day of the year, is to give back to your community — together. Sign up to volunteer with your partner at a local organization. There are many volunteer opportunities to consider, from cleaning up pollution to delivering meals to those in need to helping out at a local animal shelter.
10. See a Comedy or Theater Show
If you’re looking for a twist on the typical movie theater date night, buy tickets to see a local show. Couples who love humor may prefer a comedy performance, or you might swap your usual movie experience for a ballet or live acting show.
