Some of you are trying
to hold on to the last few moments of summer, while you other fallophiles are counting the
minutes until you can bust out the pumpkin spiced candles and slurp a Starbucks PSL. If you knew pumpkin spiced ramen noodles were
also around the corner, which camp would you be in?
Nissin Foods announced
that Pumpkin Spice Flavor Cup Noodles will hit Walmart shelves for a limited time
this October. It’s not just a sprinkle of pumpkin spice powder mixed in
with the broth, but instead a “saucy, not soup-based” mix, according to Nissin. The “sweet, savory and spiced” noodles are perfect with a dollop
of whipped cream on top, for the ultimate pumpkin spice experience.
Nissin Foods is not the first brand to add pumpkin
spice flavoring to its food. In 2019, Hormel Foods rolled out a Pumpkin Spice Spam that sold out in seven hours. Last year, Kraft Heinz presented Pumpkin
Spice Kraft Dinner to 1,000 Canadians.
According to a survey conducted by Nissin Foods, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, 50 percent of Gen Zers says they're obsessed with pumpkin spice flavor and 60 percent say “pumpkin
spice is their fall jam."
We're guessing that, just like its predecessors, Pumpkin Spice Cup Noodles will sell out. It's just a hunch, but as more and more pumpkin spiced products hit store shelves, we have not seen the end of pumpkin spice by a longshot. Expect more pumpkin spiced flavors for years to come!
