This smooth, bright green paste, originating in Sicily, is not pure nut butter though, like almond butter. Instead, like Nutella, it’s a blend of dairy, nuts, sugar and sometimes chocolate—white in this case.
You can spread pistachio cream on toast, melt it between pancakes, but you can also bake with it, fill cakes with it, and yes, eat it straight out of the jar. We're just starting to unlock the potential as a spread.
