All the Deets on Olivia Wilde’s Salad Dressing Drama and 5 Other Newsworthy Celeb Recipes

Wilde’s most recent directing venture was for a "Stepford Wives"-style thriller, “Don’t Worry Darling,” which starred herself alongside Styles and Florence Pugh. At the time production began, Wilde was still with her fiancé of seven years, Jason Sudeikis. Together they had two children. Once production was underway, Wilde and Sudeikis announced their separation. Soon after the split was made public, paparazzi and fans alike began sharing photos of Styles and Wilde getting cozy in public, from attending a wedding together to taking walks around Santa Barbara. It seemed as though Wilde and Sudeikis broke up on friendly terms, each referencing their desire to remain good co-parents in their public statements, and nothing too dramatic came from the Styles and Wilde relationship aside from sightings of the actress at many of the British singer’s concerts.

So what is with this salad dressing? Where did it come from and what does it have to do with Harry Styles? Recently, Wilde and Sudeikis’ children’s previous nanny has come forward and revealed secrets about the messy break-up, including one anecdote that stole the show about Wilde making special homemade salad dressing and taking it to Styles despite Sudeikis’ best efforts to stop her. The unnamed nanny revealed to The Daily Mail that Sudeikis had told her, "She made this salad and she made her special dressing and she’s leaving with her salad to have dinner with [Harry]" and "she has a special salad dressing she makes for us and she’s taken it to have it with him now." Screenshots shared by the nanny show texts from the male actor that stated, "[Wilde] Took her salad, and dressing and left them." After this dressing debacle, Sudeikis allegedly blocked Wilde's car with his body to prevent her from going to see the 28-year-old singer but eventually gave up. 

Most of the inside scoop shared by the nanny on the surface seems like run-of-the-mill messy breakup drama. However, the absurdity of a homemade salad dressing being a major player in this drama has people on social media in a frenzy. Is this salad dressing good enough to warrant laying in front of a car for? Will "making special dressing" be the new way to refer to an affair? What ingredients make this salad dressing so special? Although, Wilde seemingly shared the instructions on her Instagram story, posting this page containing a simple vinaigrette recipe from Nora Ephron's novel, "Heartburn", just a day after the news broke.
