1. Test Track 3.0
A new Test Track by Chevrolet opens this summer in EPCOT.
Celebrating innovation, the racing ride will also highlight the past, present,
and future. From a new queue to new show scenes, this will be a major overhaul
of Test Track — the third so far. New scenes will showcase tech advances, on
board technology, customization, personalization and how mobility connects us.
The ride will still end with an outdoor route that reminds us of the pure joy of
driving.
2. Meet Bluey
Alert the toddlers! Bluey and her sister Bingo, from the
animated show “Bluey,” will appear around Walt Disney World Resort and
Disneyland Resort starting this year. Details are still in the works but this
is all park of an expansion of the relationship between Walt Disney Company and
BBC Studios, who owns the series.
3. Zootopia: Better Zoogether Replaces "It's Tough to Be a Bug"
Goodbye “It’s Tough to Be a Bug,” the very unpopular 4D movie
that terrorized many children in the Tree of Life in Animal Kingdom, and hello
Zootopia as they will soon premiere “Better Zoogether” later this year. The
show will take guests through different Zootopia biomes and will hopefully
feature less creepy crawlies.
4. Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern
Yo-ho, yo-ho, what are those pirates drinking? In Magic
Kingdom Park, a new lounge will debut in Adventureland, themed to the Pirates of
the Caribbean ride. Peg-Leg Pete AKA Barker Bird will be brought back as the
Audio-Animatronic used to be at the entrance of the attraction. The tavern will
extend the story of the ride and is scheduled to open in late 2025.
5. Spaceship Earth Lounge
Geo-82 opens spring 2025 and it will be an adults-only
lounge by reservation inside Spaceship Earth (the big golf ball that serves as icon
of EPCOT). There will be elegant theming, innovative cocktails, small plates,
and views of EPCOT's famous gardens and lagoon.
6. Disney Starlight Parade
It’s time to get un poco loco on Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic
Kingdom Park as a new parade, “Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away,” debuts
this summer. Featuring Mariachi music from the movie “Coco,” there will also be
a giant Pepita and sugar skull fireworks. Other floats will feature movies like
“Wish,” “Peter Pan,” “Frozen,” “Encanto” and “Pinocchio” as well as a
princess-themed float.
7. Disney Villains Unfairly Ever After Show
Live from the Sunset Showcase theater at Disney's
Hollywood Studios is this new stage show featuring your favorite baddies. Led
by the Magic Mirror, you, the audience, must decide if Cruella de Vil, Captain
Hook, or Maleficent is the worst villain in the kingdom. There will be songs,
special effects, and an interactive finale. The show premieres May 27.
8. The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure
Ariel’s journey under the sea has been reimagined in an
all-new “The Little Mermaid” stage show, premiering at Disney’s Hollywood
Studios on May 27. The digital puppetry is said to be jaw-dropping, but original
songs just for the show will keep you humming them all day. The show will
reside in Animation Courtyard.
9. Disneyland 70th Anniversary
Disney has never passed up an opportunity to celebrate so
the 70th Anniversary of Disneyland kicks off this May. Festivities
include a Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! Show, World of Color
Happiness nighttime spectacular, Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! parade,
and the debut of Rex from “Toy Story” at Pixar Pier, all at Disney
California Adventure. Disneyland Park features Pixar Pals Playtime Party returning
to Fantasyland Theatre, Stitch's Interplanetary Beach Party Blast returning to
Tomorrowland Terrace, Wondrous Journeys projection show and the return
of the Paint the Night Parade. There’s also a theme song by the Jonas Brothers,
a new projection show on the façade of It’s a Small World, and special cavalcade
down Main Street U.S.A.
10. New Stores and Restaurants Coming to Downtown Disney
Get ready to shop at brand new stores coming to Downtown Disney District
at Disneyland Resort: Nectar Life, a luxury bath product store; Bopo Go!,
selling boba/bubble tea and lululemon, hawking premium athletic apparel.
New eats include Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon and Pearl’s Roadside BBQ.
11. Walt Disney — A Magical Life
Move over Mr. Lincoln as the Disneyland Audio Animatronics
show, Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, will now be sharing space with a new Walt
Disney-centered show. The two shows will rotate in the Main Street Opera House starting
this year.
12. Beyond 2025
The fun doesn’t stop this year! Looking ahead, Magic Kingdom
park will get a refurbished Big Thunder Mountain Railroad; Buzz Lightyear Space
Ranger Spin will feature new show scene, updated ride vehicles and gameplay
enhancements like handheld blasters; the new Cars Land will have two new attractions,
replacing Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America; and the long awaited Villains
Land featuring Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Gaston, Scar, Jafar and the Queen
of Hearts, will be built beyond Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
In Hollywood Studios Park, Monsters Land Studios replaces
Muppet Vision 3D with a suspended coaster and the Muppets will take over the
Rock n' Rollercoaster, changing from its current Aerosmith theme.
Over in Animal Kingdom Park, “Encanto” will have a themed
ride called Pueblo Esperanza while Dinosaur will be rethemed into an Indiana Jones
ride. There will also be a new Zootopia carousel.
An “Avatar” ride is finally coming to Disneyland while Disney
California Adventure has two new Avengers rides: Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark
Flight Lab, which will let you run test flights with different avengers.
Both coasts will get a new Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
adventure with Mando and Grogu from “The Mandolorian” guiding the story.
