The Latte Makeup Trend is Keeping Us Warm for Fall

It may be pumpkin spice season in the coffee shops, but it's the latte look season on TikTok. #LatteMakeup is taking over, with everyone trying their hand at this bronzed goddess look. Always a trendsetter, Hailey Bieber even tried her hand at a latte makeover.

Makeup artist Tanielle Jai originated the look in a photoshoot, and beauty influencer Rachel Rigler coined the term for this aesthetic that uses bronzer everywhere – contour, cheeks and eyes. The result is glowing, sunkissed skin. It's a natural, yet flawless look, perfect for the end of the summer as we head into cooler weather and want to keep our skin looking warm.

Here's Jai's tutorial on how to achieve this look, along with the best products for the job.

2. Start with skin prep.

Jai begins by prepping skin with a trio of Rhode Skin products. Glazing Milk boosts skin barrier function and hydrates. Barrier Restore Cream soothes, smooths and softens skin. Vanilla Treat Peptide Lip Treatment plumps and nourishes lips.

3. Prime.

Dior Forever Velvet Veil Matte Primer, a foundation primer combo, gives skin a natural matte finish while concealing blemishes and fine lines.

4. Conceal.

After grooming and filling in the brows, Jai spot-conceals with NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer. She dots on as needed, mostly around the chin and nose. Then she swipes Dior Forever Skin Correct Full-Coverage Concealer under the eyes and on the forehead, using it to highlight as well.

5. Bronze.

The star of this look is the bronzer, as that is what gives that glowing golden suntan look. Jai appears to use Chanel Les Beiges, a creamy pot of bronzer that she contours the cheeks, nose, jaw and upper forehead with, before blending it all out and then swiping on eyes from top to bottom, blending in a large wing. She also swipes it around the lips to accentuate the pout and does a finishing blend across the cheeks, as the bronzer will be the blush, too.

6. Freckles.

For any freckles or beauty marks that were covered up by concealer, Jai goes in with a freckle pen like Freck Beauty Freck The Original Freckle. It gives the illusion of barely any makeup.

7. Line.

Go around and under the eye with a creamy brown eyeliner like Glossier No 1. Pencil Creamy Long-Wearing Eyeliner. Blend it out so it’s super smoky all around the eye.

8. Finish the eyes.

Now, for a little more bronzer on the eyes with a golden shade, dab on Benefit Hoola Caramel Bronzer and add a touch of light mascara. You can also use small false lashes, but don't go overboard.

9. Lips.

Use a brown to nude liner on the edges of your lips, like the Makeup by Mario Ultra Suede Sculpting Lip Pencil, blend well, then fill in with a few dots of a nude lipstick.

10. Set.

Just a tap Givenchy Prisme Libre Loose Setting and Finishing Powder on the nose, forehead and chin – you don’t want to dampen the bronzy glow too much. Spritz with your favorite setting spray.
