Holi, the Hindu Festival of Colors, marks the beginning of spring and takes place the same day the first full moon rises in this season. This year, Holi falls on March 25 and this tradition embodies renewal, good fortune and positivity. It is one of the biggest festivals in India with family and friends gathering to playfully throw colorful paint powder, called gulal, at each other. People also celebrate by lighting bonfires, eating sweets and dancing to traditional music.
