It's no surprise that stores change from foliage decor to holly and twinkling lights as soon as Nov. 1 rolls around, but certain ones in the U.K. have a knack for going all out. One department store in particular -- the 314-year-old Fortnum & Mason -- just unveiled its Christmas display and the result is just magnificent.
This year's theme is "Fortnum's Dream World." Each window reveals the dreams different animals have in their sleep, imagining what their favorite things might be.
"Gilded trees woven from wicker canopy giant hampers," the site explains. "Hedgehogs ski down hills made of meringue with the aid of candy canes and owls canoe treacherous rivers of tea in a teacup."
Even the entrance can't be beat.
Fortnum & Mason is famous for their various teas and hampers, which include all sorts of treats ranging from champagne to baked goods. See below for one of their grander seasonal hampers, complete with Christmas Spiced Nuts, Toffolossus Biscuits, Ultimate Hot Chocolate and an Argentinian Malbec.
