5: National Sacher Torte Day Sacher
Torte
This chocolate cake is filled with apricot jam and glazed in
chocolate ganache and hails from 19th century Austria, credited to pastry
apprentice Franz Sacher. It was so popular, a hotel and café in Austria fought
over the rights to it in a courtroom for 30 years, finally settling in 1963. Now,
we can all make it without ever getting on a plane.
2. December 8: Brownie Day Chocolate Caramel Peanut Brownies
Does this gooey brownie recipe remind you of a candy bar? We

3. December 13: Beef Stew Day Classic Beef Stew

year to put a bowl of cozy comfort on.
4. December 15: National Cupcake Day Tiramisu Cupcakes
Yeah, you can throw together a box of yellow cake mix to
celebrate Cupcake Day, or you can go all in and make these coffee-soaked, mascarpone
frosted beauties. Your call.

Is this the best holiday ever or what? As the name says, we

like an elite choice.
6. December 19: Oatmeal Muffin Day Blueberry Chia Oat Muffins
This muffin gives sweet, warm blueberry texture and flavor,

sweetness.

Warmly spiced and sweet, these sugar-dusted cookies are
popular across Northern Europe, including countries like Germany, the
Netherlands and Belgium. They are a favorite of Saint Nicholas, so be sure to
leave some out, if they make it to the next day.
9. December 26: National Candy Cane Day Candy Cane Fudge
What are the chances of Candy Cane Day happening in December?
That was a joke, but this minty fudge recipe is serious — seriously delicious!
10. December 29: Pepper Pot Stew Day Pepper Pot Stew
George Washington and FDR counted this soup as their favorites while in office.
This Philadelphia dish actually has roots in the Caribbean, and became a popular
and inexpensive way to feed the troops during the Revolutionary War. Beef tripe
might seem intimidating, but it fills the soup spicy, leafy green soup with a wonderful umami flavor.
