In literal terms, manifestation is the practice of turning your thoughts and desires into physical forms. In the spiritual sense of the word, the method involves utilizing affirmations and raising your vibration to align with what you want. The idea is that everything you want already exists and is made possible through energetically aligning with whatever the thing is so you can receive it. In essence, you want x amount of money or your dream vacation? It’s all possible and already yours, but you have to shift to become the version of yourself who can have those things.
Tiktoker @nataliebaconcoaching breaks it down in this video:
Enough with the spiritual lens, though; we’re sure you’ve seen all kinds of content online, from the 3-6-9 method to scripting. Instead, we want to introduce the scientific reasoning behind why it works and how it can be possible for even the most skeptical people. On a fundamental level, our brain is constantly inundated with tons of information daily, but we only process what we are primed to look for. Although there has not been enough research on manifestation, other research shows that positive thoughts produce positive actions. So two things are happening when you practice manifestation: you are signaling to your brain to specifically identify things, opportunities or signs that align with your desires, and you are subconsciously taking inspired action that will lead you to get that much closer to what you want. In short, the brain is a muscle you can train to unconsciously reach your goals and obtain your wishes.
This TikTok discusses why manifestation can work on a scientific level:
So what’s the verdict? While it is not yet possible to prove the spiritual side of manifestation, though still of noteworthiness, scientifically, there is some proof in the pudding. We know that thinking positively will incentivize more positive actions, and we also know that once we become aware of but not hyper-fixated on desires, we’ll notice more external sources that can bring us closer to reaching our wants. There’s really nothing harmful about manifestation, so we say go forth and dream large!
