1. Pack with Purpose for TSA
Everyone knows that a busy TSA line can be stressful. Make it easier on yourself by planning ahead and packing in preparation for security. With your electronics and TSA-approved liquids bag at the top of your carry-on for quick access, you can make going through security easy and stress-free!
2. Get to the Airport Early
We know, you've heard this piece of advice before. But it's important! During especially busy seasons, airport security is not the only part of traveling you need to account for extra time for. Finding parking may take longer than you expected, finding a place to refill your water bottle after TSA and getting a seat near your gate all take longer than planned when it is crowded. Make sure you are arriving earlier than usual for any flights during the holiday season!
3. Fly Direct When Possible
Depending on where you are traveling from and headed to, a direct flight might not be possible. But if so, a direct flight is easier when airports are busy. With many people in the terminals and the risk of weather delays, you could easily risk missing your connecting flight and find it difficult to find a flight with seats to re-book in a timely manner. Save the stress (and potential costs from re-booking missed connections) by making the least amount of stops possible for your flight!
4. Bring Your Own Snacks
If we can promise one thing about traveling no matter the season, it's that airport snacks are expensive. Holidays can already be pricy between gifts, meals and travel so save the expense and the time spent waiting in a crowded line by packing your own snacks to eat before and during your flight. Double check the TSA food regulations and bring your own travel fuel right in your carry-on bag!
5. Fly on Tuesday or Wednesdays
Flights are always pricy, but did you know that Tuesday and Wednesday are the two least expensive days to fly domestically? If you are able to organize your schedule at home and where you are headed to around these two days, your flight won't put as much of a dent in your wallet when booking.
6. Know the Airport Ahead of Time
Looking over a map of the airport you are flying into before touching down can save you time and stress in a busy terminal. If you have a connecting flight, check how close the gates are to each other and what the easiest path from one to the next would be. For your final destination of your trip, make sure you know the closest arrivals exit and baggage claim so you can walk off the plane and onto celebrating the holidays stress-free and with ease!
