When Hailey Bieber, the trending beauty queen, tells you her go-to summer beauty routine, you take note. What she describes as "beachy, glowy, bronzy" is the perfect natural, low-key look that can easily go from the office to the ocean. Bieber uses almost a full face of Hourglass Cosmetics (with a bit of her own Rhode, her own brand, snuck in), but here are some affordable brands to copy that look.
2. Skin Prep
Bieber uses her own Rhode Glazing Milk and Rhode Peptide Glazing
Fluid for hydration and glow as first steps, but her routine is missing the key
step in any summer beauty routine — sunscreen! Coola makes a Dew Good Illuminating Serum with SPF 30: two birds, one serum.
3. Bronze and Contour
Bieber next contours, but she mentions her contour doubles
as a self-tanner. Dolce Glow by Isabel Alysa Contour Self-Tanning Sculpt + Glow sculpts, illuminates and leaves a lasting tan. Apply to your hairline, temples, the
hollows of your cheeks, the sides of your nose and jawline.
4. Conceal
Next, with a creamy concealer (we like Essence Keep Me Covered Concealer), Bieber dabs under her eyes, between her brows and on her chin
to highlight, under the hollows of her cheeks for reverse contouring and
around her nose to blot out redness.
5. Skin Tint
Now, Bieber does an unusual step where she applies a skin
tint on top of concealer and bronzer. This is called underpainting, and savvy
beauty gurus know this is a great way to get a natural look and "marry" the look together, as Bieber says. Catrice Nude Drop Tinted Serum Foundation will provide light to medium coverage with hydrating hyaluronic
acid and vitamin E that feels light and refreshing on skin. As the season
changes and you're getting tanner from either the sun or self-bronzer, don’t
forget to update your skin tint to a darker shade.
6. Set
Now, it’s time to use a little pressed powder to set and curb
any unwanted shine (we’re targeting our glow here). Bieber dabs around the nose and
upper lip but you can press some powder in any oily zones. e.l.f. High Definition Powder will set and naturally control shine without caking or creasing.
7. Cheek and Lip
For blush, Bieber opts for a terra cotta shade, almost
mimicking a little sunburn. For the true sunkissed glow, she dabs the blush on
the apples of her cheeks and across the nose, blending. For lips, the same
shade can be used, so e.l.f. Monochromatic Multi Stick in Bronzed Cherry would
do the trick.
8. Highlight
For the finishing touch, Bieber
dabs a shimmery highlighter on her upper cheeks, her upper lip, the end of her nose and under her brows. Catrice All Over Glow Tint in Sun Dip will give that sunny shine.
